Songs of My Father

 

This is a piece that was commissioned by the Indianapolis Symphony and conductor Emmanuel Villaume. It’s is based on Themes from several different movies that my father, Alfred Newman, scored. It was first performed in Indianapolis – Jan – 2005. It’s a fairly large orchestral piece. It was also performed at the Spoleto Festival USA (with me conducting) and the Grant Park Festival also conducted by Maestro Villaume.
